Delicious Granola on a Mission
Deb's Delectables began as a tiny, very fancy chocolate business back in 2004. There were a few years of making chocolates that were “too beautiful to eat,” and juggling multiple jobs. Fast forward to 2008, when Dave Grotto asked me (a food blogger focused on reworking recipes to accomodate my food sensitivities) to develop a special granola for his book 101 Optimum Life Foods. Finally, after many years of friends and family saying I ought to sell my delicious and health-concious granola, I'm finally doing it, but doing it on a mission.
In September 2021, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast. One in every 8 of us will experience breast cancer in our lives. It's a startling statistic, and the treatments are rough. And, as a result of being badly burned by radiation treatment, I also live with secondary lymphedema.
That’s why one-third of all the profits from every bag of granola sold goes to supporting breast cancer, lymphedema, and glioblastoma research. Each year, we’ll take a good look at the leading research in these fields and donate funds directly to the researchers themselves. Maybe someone needs to pay a research fellow. Maybe a scientist needs some hard-to-find supplies.
Help us to support these causes through delicious, gluten-free, soy-free, vegan granola!
